Winter Storm Update

The DPW’s primary goal during winter storms is public safety, prioritizing main roads, hills, and emergency routes to ensure access for first responders. Plowing follows a set hierarchy—moving from main arteries to residential streets—and work often continues long after the snow stops to clear intersections and widen lanes. Salt is applied strategically to high-traffic and high-speed areas; therefore, residents should expect some snow cover on low-speed local roads.

To assist crews, residents must keep all shoveled or plowed snow on their own property rather than pushing it into the street, which creates hazardous driving conditions. Additionally, please follow all emergency parking rules to ensure plows can navigate safely.
