Hillsborough Township Announces Inaugural Farm Week to Celebrate Local Agriculture

HILLSBOROUGH TOWNSHIP, NJ —The Hillsborough Business Association (HBA) will host the first annual Hillsborough Farm Week from August 23 through August 29, 2026. This new community initiative, developed by the HBA and Hillsborough’s Economic & Business Development Commission, is designed to highlight the township's agricultural heritage and support the local farms that play a vital role in the community's character and economy.

During the weeklong celebration, local farmers are invited to open their gates to the public. Participating farms can host educational tours and special events, highlight their farm stands, offer live demonstrations, or create unique experiences that allow residents to see how local food and goods are produced.

"Agriculture is at the very heart of Hillsborough's history and our daily life," said Mayor Catherine Payne. "This inaugural Farm Week is a wonderful opportunity for our residents to connect directly with the people who work our land, learn about where their food comes from, and support our local agricultural businesses."

Local farmers who wish to participate must register their farms by July 31st. Registration can be completed online via the township's sign-up link or by scanning the official registration QR code in township communications.

"It is an exciting time, and all farms are encouraged to register and participate in Farm Week," said Debbie Norz, co-owner of Norz Hill Farm and a member of the Hillsborough Economic & Business Development Commission. "It's truly bringing our town's history to light and a great opportunity to introduce the community to your farm and showcase agritourism, harvest offerings, and what makes Hillsborough so special.”

As the event draws closer, residents can find details about participating farms, schedules, and specific activities by following the official social media pages and newsletters for the Hillsborough Business Association, Hillsborough Township, and Experience Hillsborough.
