The Hillsborough Township Municipal Senior Activity Center, located at 379 South Branch Road, is a 3,000-square-foot facility dedicated to serving residents age 60 and older. Officially opened and dedicated in 2008, the Center has become a vibrant community hub where older adults can socialize, learn, and remain actively engaged.
The Center features dedicated spaces for social gatherings, games, and computer use, providing a welcoming environment for a wide variety of activities. Current programming offered through the Township's Senior Active Living Initiative includes Chair Yoga, Mah Jongg workshops, book, board game, and needlework clubs, as well as small-group Bingo and other enriching activities designed to promote wellness, lifelong learning, and social connection.
Looking ahead, the Township is actively developing new opportunities for older adults, including a Senior Social Hour, while exploring the expansion of programming into evening and potentially weekend offerings to better meet the diverse interests and schedules of Hillsborough's older adult community.
These exciting enhancements are being made possible through the launch of the Senior Active Living Initiative (S.A.L.I.), a comprehensive effort to enhance the quality of life for Hillsborough residents aged 60 and over. In addition, a generous $10,000 donation from the Township's longstanding community partner, Foothill Acres Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, will help expand programming, strengthen community partnerships, and create new opportunities that encourage healthy aging, lifelong learning, social engagement, and greater independence for Hillsborough's older adults.
The Senior Activity Room is open Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
